Migration Guide

Migrating from Culture Amp to Confirm

Culture Amp's survey science is genuinely strong. Its fundamental limit: every insight depends on what employees choose to share. Confirm adds the layer underneath — behavioral data showing how people actually work, without asking anyone to fill out a form.

Two paths for Culture Amp teams

Culture Amp teams typically choose one of two migration paths:

Replace

Full replacement

Move all engagement surveys and performance management to Confirm. Migrate all historical Culture Amp data. Single platform for all people analytics.

Timeline: 4-5 weeks
Layer

Add Confirm alongside

Keep Culture Amp for engagement surveys. Add Confirm for performance management and ONA. Confirm pulls survey data from Culture Amp so insights are unified.

Why teams move beyond Culture Amp

📝

All insights are survey-dependent

Culture Amp's analysis is only as good as survey participation — and surveys only capture what people are willing to share. Managers game ratings. Disengaged employees skip surveys. The signal you need most arrives last, if at all.

Surveys are retrospective

By the time a quarterly survey shows declining engagement, the employee has already been mentally checked out for months. Culture Amp tells you what happened. ONA tells you what's about to happen.

🔮

No predictive capability

Culture Amp analyzes historical data well. It doesn't detect early retention risk from behavioral signals, surface hidden high-performers, or proactively coach managers. The gap between analytics and action stays wide.

Culture Amp migration questions

We love Culture Amp's survey benchmarking. Do we lose that?

If you switch fully to Confirm, you lose Culture Amp's external benchmarking database. Confirm has engagement surveys, but the benchmark library is smaller. If benchmarking is critical, keeping Culture Amp for surveys and adding Confirm for performance is the right path.

Will our historical engagement scores transfer?

Yes. Culture Amp's historical survey data exports cleanly. Your trend lines and historical benchmarks carry forward into Confirm's analytics.

How does Confirm's ONA compare to Culture Amp's manager effectiveness tools?

Culture Amp's manager effectiveness tools are survey-based — asking employees to rate their managers. ONA reveals manager impact behaviorally — who turns to this manager for help, how communication flows, whether their team is disengaging. Same question, different data source, different level of honesty.

Can we phase the migration — performance now, surveys later?

Yes. Many Culture Amp teams move performance management to Confirm first (reviews, calibration, ONA) and evaluate the survey switch separately. We can configure a phased approach that lets you make that decision on your timeline.
